Crashing At Startup

After pressing PLAY, a window appears showing MOJANG, then disappears and the launcher reappears with an error message stating that the game has crashed due to an unexpected error. I have pasted a partial crash report below, as the full report exceeds the allowed number of characters. Please let me know if there is any other info I can provide. Help is greatly appreciated as I bought this game for my daughter for her birthday and she is unable to play it. Thank you.
