My game crashes before it opens (I open launcher, launch the latest snapshot (18w02a) and then the game crashes)

Whenever I open up the latest 1.13 snapshot, my launcher will close like normal, as if it were to load minecraft, but then it crashes and says this:
The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: com.google.gson.stream.MalformedJsonException: Invalid escape sequence at line 4 column 69 path $.pack.description

UPDATE: I do have the latest version of java, and I don't have any resource packs on besides the default one
