My textures start flashing and

My textures start flashing random items (i.e. iron leggings, eggs, cakes, etc.) and then everything turns blue. Shortly after that, Minecraft runs out of memory. Note: This only happened when I'm in an LAN world or server, and there is a lot of mobs around.
