My minecraft keeps freezing when trying to use.

I get on the Minecraft Launcher and click play, when I do it lets me see the menu of the game and normally freezes right there even though I can move my mouse, also, when I hit the windows button and instead of exiting the game out of full screen it glitches and doesn't do anything but show my toolbar. After that I have to use the toolbar to press X on the window and to do anything else, then I retry and it does the same thing.
