Chests are not connecting, chests are going next to each other, and slabs and stairs are no longer light transparent

was that the chest were going to connect and the blocks like slabs and stair will be transparent

What actually happened was...:
the stair and slabs are dark with lava or light behind it, and the chests are not connecting together, also the chests are like MCPE
