Scoreboard disappears from sidebar when function runs

When I use any function that modifies a scoreboard value, the sidebar display disappears. It doesn't matter which scoreboard is being modified, what the commands there are in the function. The scoreboard is still is in the display slot, and the score is still there, but the graphic disappears.
