The new snow covers are infinite

I was playing on a server, and made some snow covers and noticed I had one left. So I placed it down thinking it would go away, but instead it didn't. It stayed in my inventory no matter how much I placed it. And then when I clicked on it, it said it had 89 and so I used all 88 and was left with one and no matter how much I placed it, it just stayed.
