I cant see my chat when i type or in general and i cant join my single player worlds. This has been happening for 2 weeks

I cant see my chat when i type or in general and i cant join my single player worlds. This has been happening for 2 weeksI cant see the chat when im talking or in a server nor can i join a single player world. I use pvp mods but only 2 have to do with chat, is that the problem? When i type something, i cant see it, yet my friends or people on the server or somewhere can see it. Please help, I run on 1.8.9 forge.. Java update?
