Trapdoors, doors, and fence gates make no sound and open when shift-clicking them with a block that you cannot place

How to reproduce:

1. Surround yourself with trapdoors, fence gates, or doors.
2. Put any block in your hand
3. Shift-click on the doors, and try to place the block
4. The doors open, but play no sound.

What I expected:

Either:

The doors don't open and don't make any sound.

or

The doors open and make a sound.
