Firework boosting with elytra continues after death

How to reproduce:

Put on elytra
Get a firework rocket, best with very high flight duration (tested with 127)
Fly and boost into the ground, lava or other unpleasant location
Respawn
Activate elytra again

Result: Boost starts again.
