Loading Terrain Bug

I cannot join a multiplayer server or create a single player server because everytime i try to join a server or create one i get stuck on the "Loading Terrain" screen. If i click anywhere the game crashes and provides no reason why it crashed. This makes the game unplayable as you cant play a server or create one and I have tried switching game versions to 12.2.1. I don't use texture packs, mods, plugins, shaders, or optifine. The game was working before but now it doesn't. The files don't provide a reason why the game crashed and im not sure how to replicate it. I just launch minecraft join or create a server, it gets stuck on the loading terrain screen, and then crashs when i try to do anything else.
