I cant open minecraft

Whenever I just want to play minecraft, it never opens, well, it does, but the second it says "Downloading terrain" it crashes, please help me. I have checked the ".minecraft" folder to see if I'm missing any files, I'm not missing any.

I hope you patch it so I can play minecraft!
