Screen gets darker for a short moment after quitting world

Between quitting a world and going back to main menu, a dark overlay appears shortly on the screen.

This is probably due to the removal of the dirt background that appeared between closing the world and going back to the menu. My guess is that the background and overlay worked in conjunction, but the latter was left over after the background was removed.
