Normal rails can't turn corners on an incline

Normal rails can't turn corners while going up

What I expected to happen was:
When I placed a straight path of rails, then tried to turn a corner on an upwards slope the rail would turn and angle up.

What actually happened was:
Instead the rail didn't angle up. All carts got stuck in the block when riding the rail system.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Lay a straight line of rails at least 2 long.
2. Place a block to either side of one of the end rails (but NOT in line with the rail).
3. Place a rail on top of this block.
