"Unable to update native launcher" What do i doooo?

I went onto minecraft and the launcher thing came on it got to like... 38MB? then it stopped and said "Unable to update native launcher" nothings working to fix it. I've been sitting on my PC all day trying to work it out: I've watched Youtube videos and i've read through fourms and other websites about it.
How do i fix this?
