Minecraft 17w43a crashing

The game would crash when it loads. I am not using a custom resolution, and have not changed any options because I literally just installed this version.

Details:

The game crashed whilst initializing game
Error: com.google.gson.JsonParseException: com.google.gson.JsonSyntaxException: com.google.gson.stream.MalformedJsonException: Invalid escape sequence at line 4 column 38 path $.pack.description

I have attached the full report to the issue. I notice when I start it, the Minecraft window starts in a position around the upper left hand corner, before going to the center, and crashing.
