Launcher Drifts to the Left Upon Each Opening, Eventually Hides Off-screen

Each time the launcher is opened it appears slightly further to the left than it was when it last closed. Over successive openings this moves the launcher off-screen where it is difficult to recover.

This is the apparent root cause of some people reporting the launcher as having disappeared off-screen.
