Fire-Spread 1.12

/Gamerule Firespread False: The game does not recognize this game rule in 1.12. I have tried in both my modded world and my vanilla. Placing the fire in a 3x3 cube of barrier blocks doesn't help either. I lost my past 2 hours of work cause i was making a kitchen. This Issue needs to be fixed. Thank you,
