BTU on XBox One crashes frequently in split screen

When playing Minecraft BTU on XBox One in split screen with three players, it plays for a little and then abruptly closes and goes back to the XBox One home screen. I can restart the game and the players can then log in, but we won't be able to play for more than 20 mins.
