Items disappearing in item frames when being shot at

When you aim at an item frame from up-close with a bow and shoot the arrow while instantly right-clicking on the item frame and therefore placeing the bow into the frame , you'll see that the item frame drops and that the bow vanishes. I guess that this would work with any other item as well, that is being but into an item frame and gets shot off the wall instantly.
