Crash Recipe book

A crash occurs when I try to craft something using the recipe book.
This ONLY happens on a server and not all the time I asked other people
to try it and they did't crash. The crash sometimes closes everything and sometimes just the server,
-when it kicks you out of the server you get this:
Internal Exception: io.netty.handler.codec.EncoderException: java.lang.RuntimeException: ConnectionProtocol unknown: ky@5c153b08
The unknown protocol numbers change every crash.
And when minecraft gets closed I get a crash report about a Tesselating model
