Boat glitching through blocks and getting stuck on blocks

While I was messing around w/ boats trying to create a water slide on MC 1.12, I would sometimes glitch through blocks while riding in a boat and when slime blocks would launch the boat, it would sometimes get stuck on blocks for a sec and fall back down.
