1.12 double hopper cloning items

I have put a sandstone in the hoppers and everything was working perfectly. After some time it was not working. I looked inside the hoppers and it had two sandstones. After some time i tried to put an enchanted diamond sword and later i found two.I think it could completly unbalace the survival with eg. diamonds or enchanted items.
