I killed an elder guardian today and it is still giving me mining fatigue 3

There is this server that I play on with my friend, which is a YouTube server, we live on an island next to an ocean monument and my friend killed the elder guardian and yet, is still affecting us, in which it shouldn't according to the Wiki.
