Still crashing even with new update

Every time that I try to get on minecraft version 1.1.1 pocket edition with my Kindle HD it crashes when I open the app and tap "play". It's been this way for months now. The updates don't ever really seem to fix the problem. Is there anything I can do o get it to work or is it strictly on yalls end to get it working.
