Grass under a top slab becomes dirt despite having light nearby.

I have top slabs (the slab is on the top half of the block) and grass beneath it. After a while, the grass becomes dirt even though it has access to light through the slab. So it should still be grass (plus it looks ugly, see the screenshot).
