Jerky and stuttering movement when walking or sprinting

When I attempt to move forward by sprinting, my character will freeze every step I take, and will force me out of my sprint. Even when I go to walk sometimes, it will make me stop and go, and stop and go just about every second or step I take. My fps is is high and I don't have any lag, it just seems to have a problem when I move. It ends up forcing this very herky jerky sort of movement that is hard to explain. Its not my computer, and its not my keyboard because even when I change the keys to move in the settings, I get the same result. I have played this game for a long time, and it has never done that until I updated the game to 1.12.
