Single clicking block-to-9-item recipes multiple times

To recreate: Put a stack of many redstone blocks into inventory. Open recipe book and left-click recipe for redstone dust (9 from 1 redstone block).

When you click the same recipe again, nothing happens. I expected it to add another copy of the recipe into the crafting area.

The same thing happens with other types of block-to-9-item recipes too.
