Loading World Hang/Freeze

Just bought a new pre-built CyberPower PC which runs everything else just fine. Deleted Minecraft Win10 Edition that came with pc because of the familiarity of the launcher and 1.11.2.
I didn't transfer any worlds or settings over from my old pc, this is a clean and fresh install of MC on this pc. Trying to create any world in single-player leads to the "Loading World" screen, where it hangs. It usually doesn't freeze or give the "application not responding" prompt, but instead will continually load at 0%.
