New recipes unlocked while crafting show but don't work until inventory re-open

While crafting some items, a ladder recipe unlocked for me and appeared in the Recipe Book, shown with a red outline as "unavailable" (though I had the sticks in inventory). Clicking it had no effect.

After re-opening inventory, the recipe started working.
