Seeds pop out in closed buildings with the absence of light

In creative, I was making an indoor farm, i had yet to put torches. When i finished the roof, a bunch of seeds popped out, and i tried replacing them but they kept popping out in weird patterns. Once i lit the area inside, this didn't happen. I went off to the side to try to recreate this bug, still in creative and still in the forest biome, i farmed land at night and planted seeds, no problem. I made a red stone house with farm inside, no problem. when i then put a roof on said red stone house, i could not place seeds without them trying to pop each other out on each attempt.
