Turning Music Off Doesn't Work

When I am using Minecraft 17w18b and I turn off music while a song is playing, it doesn't turn off until multiple attempts. I feel like music MAY have been slightly reworked with the addition of newer sounding note blocks (I was using them at the moment) and that may be a reason.
