Recipe book does not work with resource packs

When I install a resource pack on to Minecraft PC edition, the recipe book will not show up. The resource pack does not have a texture for the recipe book, and I do not know if it needs to, but I think the default texture pack should have it. When I am in the usual minecraft texture pack, the recipe book will show up and work properly; it is just with the resource pack that it does not work.
