No recipes show up in inventory or crafting table after upgrading to 17w17a

What I expected to happen was...:
Should see existing recipes.

What actually happened was...:
Empty recipe chart.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Run 17w17a
2. Open Inventory OR
3. Click on crafting table
4. No recipes show up.

EDIT: seems recipes will begin to repopulate as you begin to craft items again. I just thought learned recipes carried over from snapshot to snapshot. I don't recall seeing this issue with previous snapshots.
