Fireworks don't unlock as a recipe in the recipe book

I got fireworks with /give, crafted them in the crafting table and the recipe doesn't unlock. I even tried to do /recipe give @a minecraft:fireworks but the result is Successfully given (my IGN) the recipe for Air.
