Changing capitalization of your Minecraft username without 30-day timeout

By modifying the launcher_profiles.json file inside your computer's minecraft folder, you're able to change the capitalization of your username without verifying this change with Mojang. Inside the file, change "displayName": "Legobuilder0813" (your username will be there) to whatever capitalization you'd like. Save the file, relaunch the Minecraft launcher and start the game.
I've seen a few bug reports about this already like MC-115373 but they were closed due to this being an intended feature. If it were intended, wouldn't we be able to change the capitalization of our username at any time? Mojang restricts us to 30-day timeouts on username changes, including capitalizatoin, so players shouldn't be able to bypass this timeout.
