Container Background Missing

Any time I open a container (Example: Chest), the gray overlay of the background is missing.
The overlay of the inventory is still present, however.

EDIT:
The overlay still exists on Anvils, Crafting tables, Llama inventories, Horse inventories, and enchanting tables.
