Invisiable Signs

(Using Mac OS Serra) I tried numerous times to reinstall the previous snapshot then download the new one after to fix it and I am still getting invisible signs. You can see the outline but not the actual sign. You can't write anything on them either all, I get is "Edit Sign Message" text and the "Done" button but not the text cursor.
