Parrots don't make any sounds when they are on your shoulder

Not entirely sure if it's a bug or intentional feature, but if a parrot is held, they don't make any of their regular sounds, nor the mimicking sounds. Neither of the parrots on either side will attempt to squak in your ears, regardless of environment. Tried riding on a boat, minecart, pig, couldn't hear them whatsoever.
