Cannot connect to server

I have not played minecraft in quite awhile, and recently when I decided to play I found the new launcher. It had randomly logged me out so naturally I tried to sign back in and got the error "Cound not connect to server." I thought okay let me try the website, and I got the same error. My internet is perfectly fine, the website says everything should work but it doesn't
