game launches but doesnt load then crashes

i launch the launcher, everything is fine. i launch the game, it launches fine. only it stays a black screen in the game, doesn't load, and then crashes shortly after. i tried uninstalling and reinstalling, repairing it with the thing you download on minecraft.net, and nothing has worked. it was working fine earlier, someone closed it, and now it isn't working.
