internal exception java.lang.nullpointerexception

I tried to connect to a server and that error popped up. tried mine after got the same error. I looked around and tried some solutions others used like uninstall java and reinstall and same to Minecraft. Still get the error. I love playing the game but can't connect to anything but single player but I miss playing with and against others and with friends
