cant go on servers and minecraft skin not working

Ever since the update of the new launcher, I am unable to go on any Minecraft servers and when I checked my Minecraft skin I am Steve and not the skin that I usually use. Is there any way this can be fixed? I know it's not me because my computer and java are all updated.
