When i click play for minecraft the launcher goes away for a second than reappears telling me something went wrong and it crashed i have tried uninstalling and downloading a more recent java version but it still doesn't work

When i click play for minecraft the launcher goes away for a second than reappears telling me something went wrong and it crashed i have tried uninstalling and downloading a more recent java version but it still doesn't work

What I expected to happen was...:
Well i expected what minecraft normally does it goes to the selection screen for multiplayer or single player

What actually happened was...:
It crashed

1.press play

im sorry if this isn't much information to go off by but this is what has been happening and i dont know how to fix i have tried updating java and re-installing minecraft please help...
