Broken frost walker ice in the end does not restore the water source

When breaking frost walker ice in the end with my hand, or food or anything really, the block disappears rather than restore the water source like it does in the overworld.

Steps to reproduce

Go to the end.
At one edge of the 5x5 obsidian platform build so you could place a lava source and water source at positions 2 and 4 directly beside the 5x5 platform with a stone frame
Walk near the source and let it freeze.
Break the frost walker frozen source with anything except a tool
Source will become an air block (it will unfreeze normally though by staying out of frost walker distance)

Happens without the texture pack too...
