Pressing tab and control at the same time won't show the player list

When I press the "Control" button and "Tab" at the same time, Minecraft does not detect that I'm pressing Tab to show the player list.
This doesn't happen when I press Tab first, then Control, but it's annoying because I always keep Control pressed when sprinting :s
