Broken Chest Texture (Both SP and MP servers) [1.11.2]

All of a sudden, near 11:30 PM EST Jan 4 2017 after I crafted 64 chests on a MP server, I hit F11 to go to windowed minecraft. I came back and the chests were a funky texture. I hit F11 again to go somewhere else on my PC and came back and they were an invisible texture in my inventory. I placed one chest down and it was invisible (still able to access its contents). When placing a second one next to it, the full chest texture appeared.

I then loaded up a SP world and tried to replicate it there thinking it could be Spigot. It happened again in the single player world. Same exact invisible texture for a single chest, and full double chest texture.

I'm not sure how to reproduce the bug. I didn't see what happened in game.

Second two pictures are SP worlds (...23.35.14 and ...23.35.55) (one where I hit F11 and came back and the other without hitting F11).
