redstone issue

when I was building with Redstone I found a issue. I don't think that this is intended by Microsoft and mojang. when I was building a binary counter, I noticed an issue. I was able to extend my structure with cobblestone. I extended my structure by two bricks and placed a torch on a cobblestone brick. I then deleted the connecting bricks(to the original structure) I was expecting this new structure to have a unique pattern, however, it acted like it was still attached to the original structure. if you continue the pattern by 2 then destroy the middle circuit, the pattern still continues.
the r stands for Redstone the [ ] are blocks and the / stands for a Redstone torch
