When under attack game closes before I kill monster or die

In the first world I created, I was under attack by multiple zombies, son and I were near a zombie spawner, he died, and then before I could be killed or kill the zombies while fighting, the game just closed out completely. Reopened the game and world, and came right back into the attack. Tried rebooting the computer then returning to the game, no help.

Created a new world, running into the same issue with just me playing - under attack by a villager zombie and a baby zombie and I'm not near death, but after I killed the villager, world closed before I could kill the baby. Returned to the world and I'm right back in the attack instead of respawining.
