Cactus (and other objects) do not travel to nether as expected.

Objects do not appear in the nether when passing via water or falling directly into a nether gate. I would expect the object to pass through and appear on the other side...

I have built a giant cactus farm going all the way to the top of the map and I want to have the cactus i dont want to go to the nether and into some lava. Instead they just go into non existence. I have spent many many hours building this and I dont like having things broken. Nothing would be better than having my CACTUS ACTUALLY TRAVEL TO THE NETHER AND THEN INTO THE LAVA I PLACED....
